It's not about what you know

...it's about who you know. I always hated hearing that-- it doesn't seem fair at all!
But it's true.
Here is my work experience:
Zumba Instructor
Nanny
(and my new job (woohoo!)) Customer Service Rep

In both Vegas and Cedar, it was fellow Zumba friends that hooked me up with a place to work.

Both nanny jobs were acquired through friends recommending me to the families I helped. This happened well after creating (what I thought to be) an impressive profile on care.com.

After months of hardcore job searching and applications and resumes and cover letters, I finally got an interview! But I didn't apply. I had never even heard of the company. I just had to meet the right person at the right time! Today I started training as a customer service representative for Landvoice.

"Landvoice is the original real estate lead generation company servicing thousands of real estate professionals throughout North America since 1991...Today Landvoice provides For Sale By Owner, Expired Listing, and Distressed Property leads to thousands of real estate professionals and real estate companies throughout North America."

My brain was fed with a LOT of new information today, this job is surprisingly complicated. But I'm up for the challenge and I'm just really happy to have a job! Yay for knowing people!
