And I've got it...
Littering...I hate litter! Littering is one of those things everyone knows is wrong, but when it comes down to finishing your snack and there's no garbage can in sight, you think, "what harm is one more wrapper gonna do?", and then you let it fall to the ground. I'm pretty sure everyone is guilty of littering, even if it's not a habit. I know I've trashed the earth a few times with pieces of ABC gum as well as some apple cores, banana peels, and maybe even a straw wrapper... but the brilliant thing is, people can change! I have changed my ways! I'm even blogging about how much I hate litter! And when I'm not feeling super germaphobic and have some hand sanitizer handy (hah...), I like to make up for my past mistakes by throwing other people's mistakes away. However, I think restitution has been made, so if you litter or you know anyone who litters, please help me put an end to this nasty problem that is defiling our world today. Do it for the children. And the animals. And the earth. And yourself! But most importantly, do it for me.
In all seriousness...litter is ugly, dirty, harmful, and no one appreciates it.
EXCEPT for trash cans. The trash cans of today are suffering from severe starvation.
So feed the trash cans, World!
Hey, a friend totally just posted this picture on Facebook. What perfect timing! I will leave this.
JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN'T SEE IT
DOESN'T MEAN IT'S NOT THERE.
Amen.

Here, here. When we go on walks with my dad he's always kicking rocks off the sidewalk and picking up trash to take to the next garbage. I think it's worn off on not just me but my kids too. It makes Jamie a little nutty though because I'm not content with it just not being on the ground, it needs to be washed and recycled too (stuff from our own house that is).
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the job front. I remember being newlyweds and searching for a job and feeling suddenly unskilled and unloved (by the business world that is). Hang in there, something will work out. Actually one of my first job was doing temp work at a florist shop for Valentine's season. Maybe check that out. It'll probably be short term but a way to get your foot in the door and have something on your resume (and a good local reference).
